Tummy sculpting: What is this practice that promises a flatter stomach quickly?

Abdominal sculpting is a practice that combines gastric emptying with the Pilates method. It will allow you to get a more toned tummy in a short time. So how did it start? What are the benefits? Are there any contraindications? We are evaluating.

Do you address the process of sculpting the abdomen? In recent weeks, this new practice has been talking about it. And for good reason: It promises a flatter stomach in no time. Originally, there is Anis Jazmin. Two years ago, the young woman created the BellySculpting technique by merging two specialties: gastric emptying and the Pilates method. The Promise ? Immediate results and physiological benefits from the first session.

Abdominal sculpting: what is it and how to practice this flat method?

In her book The BellySculpting method for a flat metlicing, published by Éditions Leduc on May 17, Anis Jazmin explains the path taken before designing this new practice. According to her, BellySculpting makes it possible to "exercise the deep muscles" of the abdominal girdle as well as the pelvic floor.

So where do you start to lighten your stomach? The goal is to combine the two disciplines, Anis Jazmin recommends practicing gastric emptying first and then continuing with Pilates. If gastric emptying can be performed in different positions, then the specialist invites us to start in the supine position. According to her, the best time of day to enjoy it would be in the morning, especially on an empty stomach. Here is the procedure to follow:

Lie on your back with your legs bent and the soles of your feet on the floor

Raise your ribs and bend your stomach

Inhale softly through your nose and suck on the navel

Exhale through your mouth feeling the air pass through your throat, as if you were spraying a window

Repeat this cycle five times in a row

Now that your breathing has stabilized, you will be able to move into the stomach space:

  • Inhale, and while exhaling, hold your breath
  • Suck your belly to the fullest and tighten the perineum area
  • Hold this position for a few seconds, then release while exhaling

Then it's time to move on to the Pilates method. To start, Anaïs Jazmine offers a simple exercise: the pelvic floor exercise. The latter would have many benefits: "gently awakens the abdominal muscles," "stabilizes the pelvic floor" or even "stretches the lower back." To do this, lie on your back with your legs parallel and hip-width apart. Knees are raised, feet to the floor, arms along the body. Then proceed like this:

Inhale and bring your lower ribs and abdominal muscles together

Exhale as you engage your abdominal muscles and suck in your navel, then gently lift your pelvis off the floor

Then go up the bridge (bridge)

Inhale and activate your abdominal muscles without moving

Exhale and open your vertebrae one by one, while resting your spine gently on the floor

Repeat this movement four times

Do not forget to perform this exercise without pulling in your shoulders or neck, and by engaging your perineum on the exhale. You can supplement it with the moves suggested in the book or with the moves of your choice.

What are the contraindications to the use of tummy tuck surgery?

The more regular you are in your practice, the faster you will see the benefits of BellySculpting, says Anaïs Jazmine. Although this discipline is gentle, the creator of this method cautions that some side effects may occur. For example, you may have lower back pain after exercising on a stomach vacuum. This is completely normal, especially during the first sessions. You may also feel some sudden sensations in your body, such as a gurgling stomach or ovarian pain. The specialist wants to reassure and remind us that emptying the stomach "stimulates the organs deeply": so it is normal for your body to react.

However, there are some contraindications. Anaïs Jazmine recommends not to undergo gastric emptying if you suffer from one of the following diseases:

  1. ulcer
  2. heart disease
  3. Hypertension
  4. hernia
  5. glaucoma

On the other hand, gastric emptying like Pilates method can be practiced during pregnancy. At first, Anaïs Jazmine recommends doing it on all fours or lying on your back, and not standing. Finally, pregnant women are advised not to hold their breath, but to release immediately. If in doubt, seek advice from a healthcare professional before performing a tummy tuck procedure.
