In his new book Vital (ed. Albin Michel), Dr. Frederick Saldmann outlines his invaluable tips on health and slimming. An overview of the most amazing things:
Popcorn, the "diet" snack
Neither salty nor sweet.. but the natural version! 100 grams (large salad bowl) equals only 390 calories. The expert says: “Swallowing an entire bowl of food triggers the satiety mechanism in the brain as if the stomach was full.” Popcorn contains a record level of fiber and nutrients that speed up transit and keep you feeling full for hours!
The grains are cooked for a long time in water, then crushed coarsely, without salt or sugar... It is the magic recipe for permanent weight of the stomach. To stop further, Dr. Saldman suggests using anti-reflux infant formula that is rich in natural ingredients, such as carob, which makes the porridge heavier! And if you add cinnamon, it will delay the emptying of the stomach even more. Another advantage: the moderate glycemic index (GI) prevents the untimely secretion of insulin by the pancreas resulting in reactive hypoglycemia at the origin of cravings.
Ginger is appetizing
"Soak the peeled roots carefully in boiling water for 15 minutes, as the famous doctor advises. Add a squeezed lemon, but without honey or sugar." And here is an ideal aperitif, which, in addition to its appetite suppressant effect, improves digestion by activating the secretion of digestive enzymes. Fast transit, less gas, and a flat belly guaranteed.
Visually, it is large on the plate. "What we see has an impact on how we feel full," says Dr. Saldman. Also, drink a glass of water after the artichoke. You will find sugar water as if you were swallowing a candy in the middle of the meal! The insulin it contains sends a sweet ending clap signal to the brain, as if a meal is over. The result: Naturally, we eat less afterwards.
Small calories (about 30kcal/100g) and full of fiber and vitamins, it contributes to feeling full. Steamed or with other vegetables, it will fill the stomach and act as a natural appetite suppressant. As soon as it is eaten, it will swell again in the stomach.. as long as it is not cooked with fat!
