"Geogenic" foods
Certain foods called thyroid-stimulating foods should be avoided as part of a hypothyroid diet. They slow down the functioning of the thyroid gland and prevent it from absorbing iodine, which is an essential component for the production of thyroid hormones.
Foods containing hydrogen that should be avoided in case of hypothyroidism and levothyroxine are:
Brussels sprouts;
cabbage;
cauliflower ;
cabbage;
Broccoli;
mustard leaves
watercress;
turnip;
turnip yellow;
sweet potato ;
soybean;
Peanuts;
millet.
However, cooking inactivates the effects of these foods.
soy
Soy may have goiter effects only in the case of iodine deficiency. On the other hand, soybeans are known to interfere with the absorption of Levothyrox. Therefore, it is highly recommended to avoid soy foods while taking this medication.
Soy foods to avoid in case of hypothyroidism are:
tofu;
Tempeh.
Soybeans and seeds.
edamame
Drinks made with soy milk.
Complex Soy Protein
Vegetable slices made from soybeans.
Soy yogurt.
However, in the absence of hypothyroidism, soy consumption does not affect the functioning of the thyroid gland. So it is not necessary to limit its consumption, especially since it has an interesting nutritional profile.
Foods that are high in fat
In addition to reducing weight gain associated with hypothyroidism, limiting fat consumption also reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Milk and yoghurt should contain no more than 2% fat and cheese no more than 20% fat.
You should also avoid added fats, which quickly increase your fat intake:
ghee ;
oils;
bandages;
sauces;
Women should not exceed 6 servings of added fat per day, and men 8. One serving of added fat is:
1 tablespoon of oil or melted butter;
15 ml of vinegar.
1 full teaspoon of mayonnaise;
1 tablespoon of oil seed puree (almond, cashew, sesame, etc.);
7 olives
2 teaspoons barbecue sauce.
2 tablespoons of 15% creamy liquid cream;
30 grams of cheese.
Alcohol and coffee
Consumption of alcohol and coffee should be limited and not occur when taking the treatment. Count at least one hour between the two to avoid overlap.
Other foods are not recommended
industrial products and ready-made dishes;
simple sugars
duplicate products
tobacco.

Hypothyroidism and hydration
Since constipation is a common symptom of hypothyroidism, it is important to maintain proper hydration. For this, you should ideally drink 2 liters of water in small, well-distributed quantities throughout the day.
Water is the only primary drink, and it is not recommended to have juices, smoothies or even soft drinks on a regular basis.
Levothyrox and Iron, Calcium and Fiber Supplements
If you are taking iron, calcium or fiber supplements, it is recommended that you do not take them before taking levothyrox.
Wait 4 hours between the two because these supplements compete with the treatment and can reduce its effect.
