Hamburger and pizza: which of these foods has the most calories?
Hamburger or pizza? Your heart is swinging. If you monitor your streak, know that one of these two components is more balanced than the other. A dietitian and nutritionist give her advice.
It's no secret: fast food is bad for your health and on the line. If it shouldn't be abused, you can treat yourself to some fun from time to time, by cracking a pizza or a hamburger. But which of these two foods is best for reducing weight gain?
Burger VS Pizza: Match the calories
Hamburger contains 250 calories per 100 grams, but this dish often weighs more. The result: a medium-sized burger has about 350 to 400 calories, and that can go up to 600 calories for a triple cheeseburger, for example. How about pizza? It contains 1,000 to 1,200 kcal, or about 200 to 300 kcal per 100 grams!
Thus pizza calories are higher than hamburger calories, but this criterion is not the only one that should be taken into account to assess the effect of food on the line. The amount of carbohydrates, and therefore sugars as well as fats, i.e. fats, is also important.
A whole pizza contains 52 grams of fat and 156 grams of carbohydrates, including 28 grams of sugar. For 100 grams of pizza, this equates to 8 grams of fat and 26 grams of carbohydrates including 5 grams of sugar. On the hamburger side, there are 25 grams of fat and 42 grams of carbohydrates, including 8 grams of sugar. Per 100 grams, this equates to 12 grams of fat and 19 grams of carbohydrates including 4 grams of sugar. Here again, pizza is a lot richer than a burger, even if neither of these two dishes is of much nutritional benefit.
Pizza and hamburgers: Lots of bad fats and sugars
Why are these two dishes not recommended for the line? In hamburgers, meat, cheese and various sauces - fatty, salty and sweet - are sources of salt, but also of saturated fatty acids and cholesterol, that is, low-quality fats. On the other hand, bread is a source of simple sugars, which leads to a high glycemic index.
In pizza there is a lot of cheese, rich in saturated fatty acids, cholesterol and salt. On the other hand, dough is a source of simple sugars and also has a high glycemic index.
So these two dishes contain a lot of bad fats, fast-absorbing sugars, and very little fiber and vitamins.
Hamburger is more balanced than pizza
Hamburger and pizza, same fight? Not completely! The hamburger is still more balanced, because it still provides meat, which is a source of animal protein and iron, cheese, which is a source of protein and calcium, as well as starches and some raw vegetables. For its part, pizza generally brings only starches and cheese.
However, there are some tricks to make these two dishes more balanced and therefore more interesting for the line. For hamburgers, it is advisable to choose high-quality bread, meat and cheese, add more raw vegetables compared to industrial hamburgers and reduce the amount of sauce. If not eaten with French fries, nuggets, or soda, this dish provides the average recommended calorie intake for the meal.
For pizza, the trick is simple: it shouldn't be eaten whole. A quarter of a pizza with a side salad makes for a relatively balanced meal. Therefore, betting on homemade and limited quantities is key to watching your figure eat junk food from time to time!
