Fat Burners: 10 Foods That Increase Fat Loss
Chili pepper, cinnamon, apple ... These foods promote lipolysis, that is, getting rid of fat and losing weight.
Fat burners: how do they work?
The first thing to know: the sugars we consume in our diet are used as "fuel" for the body - especially for the brain, which needs a large amount of carbohydrates to function properly.
Excess sugars (i.e. those that the body does not use) are stored as fat in certain cells (known as "adipose cells") with the help of a hormone we know all too well: insulin. Adipocytes also contain lipids (i.e. fats, especially from food) that are stored as triglycerides.
to know. In the body of a healthy adult (understand: who is not overweight) there are between 20 and 40 billion adipocytes. In the case of obesity, the body can contain up to 250 billion adipocytes. In women, these fat cells are concentrated in the hips, buttocks and thighs: this is the famous fatty tissue.
Problem: In the case of an unbalanced diet, we often consume too much sugar/too much fat and not get rid of it enough (in particular because we are not moving enough). The result: we grow especially women, thighs and hips.
Good news: some foods promote lipolysis, that is, the removal of fats (caused by sugars and fats) contained in adipocytes. They don't all work the same way: some foods increase metabolism (ie consuming calories at rest, outside of any physical exercise), others limit the conversion of sugars into fat, while others avoid fat storage in adipocytes.
These "fat-burning" foods should be eaten regularly to avoid getting fat in the hips, thighs, and buttocks, as well as to aid weight loss.
Fat Burners: Not Enough!
It is clear that "fat-burning" foods are not enough to lose weight and do not prevent weight gain! At the same time, it is necessary to follow a balanced diet and engage in regular physical activity.
Physical activity
Beware of excessive enthusiasm! To activate lipolysis (meaning: "burning" the fat accumulated in adipocytes), the ideal physical activity remains endurance - low intensity but over a long period. So we move on to swimming, Scandinavian walking, hiking, biking, stepping... The idea is to be able to talk during exercise - because lipolysis requires an oxygen supply.
Moreover, it was said: to stimulate lipolysis, the effort should be long. So the phenomenon of lipolysis is ideal after 2 hours and 30/3 hours of exertion ... If it is clear that we can think of a long weekend walk (it is great for burning fat, but also for getting oxygen), you can also choose 45 Min / hour of brisk walking every day: With training, the fat burned accounts for 50% of the energy consumed after the first hour of effort!
to know. Vibrations improve lipolysis. So feel free to invest in a vibrating belt to accompany our workouts or try out the vibrating machines at the gym.
food
Of course, when trying to burn fat, it is best to limit your intake of carbohydrates and fats - without cutting them out completely because they are essential for the proper functioning of the body. So we avoid soft drinks, sweets, pastries, ready meals, cold cuts, commercial spreads... A little tip: "homemade" dishes (as well as sauces, jams or even cakes) are generally less sweet and less greasy than commercial dishes.
After medical advice (this is mandatory), you can also consider a short fast: do not eat anything between 4 pm and 8 pm, for example, or between 8 pm and 9 am. This good habit (which requires a green light from the doctor, we repeat) promotes fat loss thanks to the secretion of thyroid hormone that protects against weight loss.
Other little tips that work to curb weight gain: Take the time to eat while chewing well, sit in a quiet place to eat (and turn off the phone), and regularly ask yourself how full you are – “Are you still hungry?”
