5 Reasons Why You Don't See Results From Your Workouts

Exercise shouldn't be a burden. One of our missions at EVO is to prove that exercise can be fun and enjoyable while helping you achieve your goals. However, some factors can discourage even those who fully agree with our philosophy, one of which does not see any results.

We know how frustrating that can be. You put in the effort, you eat healthy, and sometimes you train twice a day. However, you feel like you've settled down, which is especially irritating when you're eager to reap the rewards of all your hard work.

You don't have to worry about it, there are many reasons why this happens and we are here to help you figure out which one it might be. Check out these 5 reasons why you can't see results from your workouts.

Why don't you see the results of your workouts

1 - Unrealistic goals

When we start training, we feel focused and motivated: it is natural to raise the bar high. But we have to be careful, could this bar be too high for anyone to reach? If you think you can be on top of your game in a couple of weeks or master headstand in a few days, you might be disappointed, and that's normal. So the first step is to make sure that your goals are realistic and achievable with your current fitness level.

2- Lack of sleep

Never underestimate the importance of a good night's sleep in your fitness goals. A good night's sleep is vital to recovering our muscles, renewing our cells, and helping us become stronger. In fact, we produce most of human growth during deep sleep. If you are having trouble sleeping, avoid exposing yourself to the blue lights of smartphones, tablets, and computers. You should also make sure your room is quiet, clean, and pleasant before snuggling. Finally, avoid intense workouts before you go home, it will produce adrenaline, which is not an ideal contributor to sleep.

3 - Overtraining - yes it is possible

Pushing our bodies too far can lead to physical and mental exhaustion, tension in muscles, ligaments, and joints, as well as poor performance and unfulfilled personal goals. Excessive training is there and it can push you away. If you're not sure whether you're overtraining or not, there are three easy ways to spot it: You've been training for too long without giving your body time to rest and repairing tissue and muscle damage. You always push yourself too quickly to higher limits, expecting quick and immediate results. Last but not least, you are not giving yourself enough fuel to handle your highest levels of exercise. If you do all of the above, you are clearly overtrained.

4- Lack of diversity

If you get too comfortable with your training routine, you will lose more than motivation, stabilize your performance and see no results. Your body needs new stimuli and the muscles will adjust to the repetition after a while. Diversifying your workouts is a great way to make the most of your body's capabilities. Functional fitness gives you an impressive set of tools that will help you achieve a variety of your workouts, making each workout session different while helping you achieve your goals. After all, even setting it up can be a refreshing experience of what you've been doing before, something you can easily confirm with this 20 Minute Hierarchical Functional Workout or in this 50-40-30-20-10 full-body workout.

5- Too much tension

We know that exercise can be beneficial in reducing stress, but we tend to forget that too much stress can be detrimental to exercise. Modern life is a long and busy schedule where professional and personal can sometimes be indistinguishable, confusing even the most dedicated and healthy of athletes. In addition, it increases muscle tension, which can lead to injury. It also affects focus, and undermines the vital relationship between mind and body. Finally, it increases appetite, destroying well-intentioned efforts to eat healthy food.

If after these tips you feel that you are still not getting results from your workouts, our personal trainers can design a customized program for you with constant monitoring that will get you on the right track in no time.
