Yoga is one of the sports that help in physical and spiritual serenity and reduce psychological stress. But the benefits of yoga are not
limited to the soul only, but it is also an effective way to tighten muscles and burn excess body fat, and give you a more agile and flexible body.
If you are a fan of yoga, learn on the occasion of International Yoga Day the benefits of psychological and physical yoga exercises and everything you need to know about the benefits of yoga and how to practice this special sport.
The psychological and physical benefits of yoga
Yoga promotes the expulsion of toxins from the body, and increases blood flow due to muscle tension and relaxation.
Yoga helps relieve stress and tension, lubricates joints and strengthens muscles, including the back, shoulders, and hips.
A large number of yoga exercises contribute to burning body fat, calories and stimulating metabolism.
How to do yoga the right way
Doing regular breathing is essential to practicing yoga and helps you relax and focus. This is done by slowly inhaling for 8 seconds, then holding the breath a little in the lungs for 3 seconds and finally exhaling for another 8 seconds.
Pay attention while doing exercises to areas at risk such as the knees, hips, spine and neck, and stop immediately when feeling any pain and fatigue.
Eat a light meal an hour or two before practicing yoga in order to maintain optimal energy levels and your ability to perform the
postures easily and without fatigue, then wait a quarter of an hour after the session before eating, and avoid drinking water during the performance, but before and after exercises.
Make sure to use a yoga mat that is manufactured in a way that prevents any slipping during the different exercises.
With regard to clothing, it is recommended that the pants not be too narrow, and not be particularly long so as not to skip the pants constantly, and that they have flexibility, which leads to an increased
feeling of comfort, as well as that the waist band is flexible and wide and remains fixed around the area waist.
