There is no scientific evidence to confirm the effectiveness of the lemon, ginger and mint diet for losing excess weight in a week, and

 although it is an effective combination to expel toxins from the body, excessive consumption of it may lead to health problems in the digestive system in particular.


We discussed the nutrition consultant, Dr. Wafaa Mohamed, at Misr International Hospital from Cairo, to learn about the effectiveness of the lemon, ginger and mint diet for losing excess weight in a week and the correct way to lose weight through it.

According to what Dr. Wafaa said, the compounds of lemon, ginger and mint combined to achieve one goal, which is to expel toxins and

 excess fluids in the body, which leads to a feeling of losing excess weight resulting from the amount of water in the body and not the accumulated fat.


But with an excessive intake of cold or warm lemon, ginger and lemon drink without exception, this may lead to various health problems, due to the strength of the drink's compounds on the digestive system.


On the other hand, moderation in drinking lemon, ginger and mint drink twice a day, would help burn calories, improve digestive health, curb appetite for long periods, and maintain body hydration.


The correct way to diet lemon, ginger and mint to lose excess color

Dr. Wafaa confirmed that the lemon, ginger and mint drink serves as a detox to flush out toxins and stimulate the metabolism to lose weight according to the body's response, and not a diet relied upon to lose weight.


On the other hand, Dr. Wafaa explained that following the healthy diets specified by the specialist doctor according to the nature of each

 body and its health condition, with the use of lemon, ginger and mint drink, may contribute to losing excess weight permanently and not only in a week.


As for the way to drink lemon, ginger and mint drink for weight loss, Dr. Wafaa preferred to take a cooled detox from this mixture, which consists of “fresh lemon slices, fresh ginger slices, fresh mint

 leaves, cold water and ice pieces”, storing it in the refrigerator for two hours, before eating it. Twice a day, after breakfast and dinner, to help flush out toxins and stimulate the metabolism to lose weight in a healthy manner.
